Tom Chase, a long-time fixture in Las Vegas radio, and Operations Manager for Clear Channel/Las Vegas, will be the first speaker of 2007 for Women in Communication at our January luncheon. This exciting event will take place on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at Maggiano’s in the Fashion Show on Las Vegas Boulevard. Schmoozing starts at 11:30am.
Tom does triple duty at Clear Channel. He is Program Director and midday personality at KSNE/Sunny 106.5, and serves as Operations Manager for Clear Channel’s other Las Vegas properties: KWNR/New Country 95.5, KPLV/The Party 93.1, and KWID/La Preciosa 101.9.
Tom has been in Las Vegas since 1991, and has received many national and local awards, including an Electronic Media Award (EMA) as Program Director of the Year. Radio Ink Magazine also named Tom “Best Medium Market Program Director in America.”
Tom will give an overview of radio here in Las Vegas, and around the country. He will also answer questions that have been in the forefront of our minds since we all got our first radios as kids. These questions include:
- How is the music picked?
- How do you find the disc jockeys?
- How do radio stations get all of these neat prizes?
- Do you like the music you play?
- Do you really take requests?
- How do I become a really famous DJ with groupies and everything?
Well – maybe the last question is not so burning. But, if you have questions about radio, bring them to the next WIC Meeting on January 11th and ask Tom Chase.
