For the past twenty-nine years, Jackie Glass has called Las Vegas home. At first, it was “Jackie Glass, TV Reporter” – then “Jackie Glass, Esq.”.
Today, it is the Honorable Jackie Glass, Judge in Department Five in the Eighth Judicial District Court of Clark County. Judge Glass has some amazing stories to tell, and she will do just that as the keynote speaker at our next Women in Communication Luncheon, to be held Thursday, February 08, 2007 at Maggiano’s in the Fashion Show. Schmoozing starts at 11:30am.
Judge Glass is part of a new generation involved with her family, her profession, and her community. And, her story is amazing...
With a degree in journalism from the University of Georgia, she moved to Las Vegas as a radio news reporter, and then moved to television. As anchor and crime beat reporter, she followed trials, and became interested in the field of law. She then went to the University of San Diego School of Law, graduated, and returned to Las Vegas. In 1984 – she passed the Nevada Bar Exam, received her Juris Doctorate, was admitted to the Nevada Bar, and got married to Steve Wolfson.
Steve and Jackie built an incredible law practice, while still being parents to Rachel and Rebecca. Today, Steve is a Las Vegas City Councilman, and still a prominent attorney in Clark County.
In 2002, Jackie was elected to the District Court Bench in Department Five. Over the years, she has been the judge for numerous high profile cases, including one currently in the news. But she has never forgotten her roots of family, profession, and community.
