On February 17, 2009, federal law requires that all full-power television broadcast stations stop broadcasting in analog format and broadcast only in digital format.
This brings up lots of questions. What does it mean for television stations? What does it mean for consumers? What does it mean for advertisers?
All these questions and more will be answered at the next Women in Communication Luncheon, on Thursday, February 07, 2008 (NOTE DATE CHANGE) at Maggiano’s in the Fashion Show. Our guest speakers will be two “of our own” – Emily Neilson, President and General Manager of KLAS/tv8, and Linda Bonnici, Vice-President of Sales for KLAS.
Schmooozing begins at 11:30am.
Emily has been with the station for 27 years, primarily in leadership positions in the newsroom. She served as News Director for seven years, supervising a staff of 100 and the production of approximately 40 hours of local news each week. She was promoted to General Manager in 2004. KLAS is a partner in Las Vegas ONE, a local news cable channel with Cox Communications and Greenspun Media.
Since January 1994, Linda has been Local Sales Manager and General Sales Manager. She oversees revenue generation and placement for KLAS TV, lasvegasNOW.com, Las Vegas ONE, and CNN Headline News Local Updates and LATV. Formerly, Linda was a Local Sales Manager and Account Executive with KVBC TV from 1982 to 1994. Prior to that, she worked as a Radio Account Executive from 1977 to 1982 at Broadcast Associates—KFM/KVEG.
