Since 1999, one person has kept us up to date on the hottest Las Vegas gossip, from his exclusive scoop on Britney Spears’ quickie marriage to her childhood friend, along with Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones skinny-dipping at Lake Las Vegas.
He has told us who is hanging out with whom – where they eat – where they play. He has changed the way Southern Nevadans read the newspaper.
It’s Norm! Norm Clarke of the Las Vegas Review Journal will be the guest speaker at the March luncheon of Women in Communications, to take place on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Maggiano’s in the Fashion Show. “Schmoozing” begins at 11:30am.
Norm has been a newspaperman for over 40 years, calling Las Vegas home for the past six. Prior to becoming our man-about-Las Vegas, he spent 15 years in Denver as an award-winning sportswriter and columnist, in addition to being a man-about-Denver. As a sportswriter, he covered four Olympics, eight World Series, four Super Bowls, and was the first to announce the 1987 retirement of all-time hit king, Pete Rose.
However, we know Norm for his daily “page 3” column, and his latest endeavor as an author. He has written the ultimate insider guidebook about Las Vegas called “Vegas Confidential: 1,000 Naked Truths.” Norm’s book will be available following his presentation.
