Nevada Broadcasters Association President and CEO Bob Fisher will have strong words for all of us at the upcoming Woman in Communications April luncheon, on Wednesday, April 05, 2006 (note the date) at Maggiano's in the Fashion Show. Schmoozing starts at 11:30am.
His presentation, "Thunder and Lightning" -- summarizes the stormy forecast for Nevada's free over-the-air television and radio stations. Bob and twenty members of the Nevada Broadcasters Association recently met together in Washington, D.C., with each of our congressional delegation and their communications staff. They also participated in the annual NAB State Leadership Conference. Bob's message will resonate throughout WIC, and will put all broadcasters on notice that in order to face and survive the coming technologies, we must use our unique power to convene, to validate, to inform and to problem-solve.
The annual NAB convention in Las Vegas begins on Sunday evening, April 23. More than 100,000 broadcasters from throughout the world will attend.
Bob Fisher will begin his 13th year as President and CEO of the NBA this fall. Currently, his weekly statewide public affairs radio show, Observations -- is heard in Ely, Elko, Winnemucca, Fallon, Reno and on seven stations in Las Vegas.
