WOMEN IN COMMUNICATION WELCOMES

MERCEDES
AS OUR MAY KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Come meet and enjoy hearing one of the most popular radio personalities in Las Vegas history

You know you have made it when you are known by one name.

Cher. Madonna. Siegfried. Roy. J-Lo. Mercedes!

Mercedes, one-half of Las Vegas’ most popular morning radio team, Mark & Mercedes on Mix 94.1, will be our keynote speaker at the May Women in Communication Luncheon, to be held Thursday, May 17, 2007 (NOTE DATE CHANGE) at Maggiano’s in the Fashion Show. Schmoozing starts at 11:30am.

Mercedes started her career in Denver, interning at KQKS as a Promotions Assistant. She then was hired full-time as a receptionist. As luck would have it, the female morning personality at the station landed a job in Phoenix. She was asked to “sit in” with the morning host while they looked for a replacement.

That’s when Mark & Mercedes was born – and they have been a team ever since.

Mark & Mercedes came to Las Vegas in March 1997, and in the past 10 years, have had steadily high ratings, and high visibility in the market. Besides her on-air work, Mercedes is involved in many local charities, raising money for the Salvation Army (the M&M Four Corners Food Drive), the Rape Crisis Center (Nina’s Night Out), and local families and companies in need (M&M Neighbor to Neighbor Fund).

Professionally, Mark & Mercedes have been named “Air Personality of the Year” by Billboard Magazine, “Best Local Radio Personality” for the past seven years by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, and in 2007, was named “Best Local Radio Personality” by Las Vegas Weekly.

Mercedes is married to Matt, who she met when he won a contest at Mix 94.1, and their eyes met as he was picking up his prize. She is also a mom to Sophie, who is 5.

A gifted broadcaster, who balances her work with family, Mercedes is a Woman in Communication we can all look up to. Come meet her at the May WIC Luncheon – on a special date – Thursday, May 17, 2007.

This luncheon will sell-out, so pre-register today at 991-9991.
