You know you have made it in show business when you are known by a simple catch phrase.

When you hear “champagne wishes and caviar dreams” – you know it’s Robin Leach – the featured speaker at the next Women in Communication’s regularly scheduled luncheon, to be held Thursday, October 06, 2005 (note the date) at Maggiano’s in the Fashion Show.

This has been a very busy year for Mr. Leach, as he has teamed up with America On-Line to be the “eyes and ears” of Las Vegas at a Vegas Deluxe Journal website called Luxe Life: Vegas, where people worldwide can experience Las Vegas through his words and photos. This journal is updated five times per week, and can also be heard on the ABC Radio Network.

Robin is also seen on America On-Line’s Las Vegas video programming, which is available at www.vegas.aol.com or www.TotalVegastv.com.

He is also guest starring in the 5th season premiere of America’s Next Top Model with Tyra Banks.

Robin Leach began his American television career by reporting for morning shows on KABC-TV in Los Angeles, and WABC-TV in New York City. In 1980, Mr. Leach joined CNN’s “People Tonight”, and was part of the original “Entertainment Tonight” crew.

His career skyrocketed in 1983, as he created “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous”. “Lifestyles” ran for 14 seasons, and is still seen today overseas. During his career, Mr. Leach has produced and hosted over 300 hours of television series and specials.

In 1993, Robin Leach hosted a nightly primetime talk show to launch the new Television Food Network. He also hosted a weekend series called “Gourmet Getaways”. Other hosting duties include specials for MTV and A&E.

Mr. Leach has appeared on countless television shows including “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, “The Late Show with David Letterman”, “Regis & Kathy Lee”, “Nightline”, “20/20”, “Oprah Winfrey”, “Larry King Live”, “The View”, “The Today Show”, and “Good Morning America.” He has also guest starred on “Roseanne”, “Boy Meets World”, “Thirty Something,” and the ever popular, “Love Boat.”

Robin Leach has certainly added his own glitz and glamour to Las Vegas, and we are honored to have this television icon speak at our October WIC luncheon.
