The Las Vegas Advertising and Media Community is very lucky to have some extremely talented and dedicated individuals.
What makes our “unique” market even “more unique” is that our industry has some very influential couples who make a difference in the buying decisions, television news reporting, and what Southern Nevadans hear and see.
Three of these “Power Couples” will be featured at our next Women in Communication Luncheon, to be held on Thursday, October 05, 2006 at Maggiano's in the Fashion Show. (NOTE DATE CHANGE) Schmoozing starts at 11:30am.
Our panel will include Marla & Tom Letizia, Kim Copozzo & Dana Wagner, and a couple to be announced shortly.
Tom Letizia
President, Letizia Ad Team
Tom Letizia opened his advertising and PR business more than 30 years ago. Today, the Letizia Ad Team represents some of the most successful businesses in the growing Las Vegas area. His success stories including managing both of Mayor Oscar Goodman’s campaigns, to being one of the nation’s largest advertising agencies representing automotive dealers nationwide. Tom’s 36 years of experience in working in the media has enabled him to become one of the most respected media advisors in the area.
Marla Letizia
President, Marla Letizia’s Big Traffic Mobile Billboards
Marla Letizia has spent her life as a Las Vegas innovator. A resident from the age of two, she has enjoyed a successful career in broadcast journalism as the first female director in Las Vegas, host of her own community talk show, and a weather anchor. Today, Marla is President of Big Traffic Mobile Billboards, a leader and pioneer company in transit advertising, and oversees the daily operations of the company. Outside of work, Marla is a founding member of The Meadows School and has served on their Advisory Board, served on the Make-A-Wish Advisory Board, and is president-elect for Congregation Ner Tamid.
Kim Copozzo
Anchor/Reporter, KVBC TV3
Kim is the weekend evening anchor on News 3, as well as the anchor for the weekend edition of News 3 on MYLVTV. Her experiences include television stops in Panama City, Sacramento, and Reno, where she met her husband, Dana Wagner. Kim is a graduate from the University of Florida, Gainesville (loves Gator Football), where upon graduation, began her broadcast career at WUFT-TV. Dana and Kim are proud parents of Kate, who celebrated her first birthday in June.
Dana Wagner
Weather Anchor, KVBC TV3
Dana is on a winning streak! Besides being married to Kim, he has been named the “Best Weather Anchor” for two years in a row at WIC’s Electronic Media Awards. Dana is a graduate of Washington State University, and his career has taken him to a radio station in Walla Walla, Washington, and television stations in Tri-Cities, Washington, and Reno. That’s where he fell in love with Kim. They were both offered jobs at KVBC, and moved to Las Vegas in 2001.
Linda Bonnici
Vice President/Sales, KLAS TV8
Linda is truly one of the best -known and well-respected “Women in Communication” in Las Vegas history. She is currently the Vice-President of Sales at KLAS, and revenue generation for KLAS, Las Vegas One, CNN Headline News Local updates, and klastv.com. Prior to joining KLAS, she was Local Sales Manager with KVBC and a Radio Account Executive at KFM/KVEG. She is a founding member of WIC, and has served as President, Vice-President, board member, and Chair of the Electronic Media Awards. Currently, Linda is on the Board of Directors and Executive Board for First Tee of Southern Nevada, helping at risk children learn life skills through the game of golf, with the opportunity for a college scholarship. A Las Vegas resident since 1977, she and Tony have two children, Kyle and Courtney.
Tony Bonnici
Vice President/GM, Lotus Broadcasting
Tony began his career in radio selling advertising for Donrey Media at KORK AM/FM. He joined Lotus Broadcasting in 1983, and has since risen to Vice President and General Manager of Lotus (KOMP, KXPT, KBAD, KENO). He also holds the title of Regional Vice President of Lotus Broadcasting, overseeing operations in Reno, Tucson, Fresno, and Bakersfield. In addition to his non-stop duties at Lotus, Tony finds time to sit on various non-profit boards and trade associations. He is the Founding President of the Southern Nevada Radio Association, and served as Chairman of the Board for the Nevada Broadcasters Association. He has also held leadership positions for Ronald McDonald House, MDA, and the American Cancer Society. Two years ago, Tony was awarded the highly prestigious Humanitarian of the Year award by the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
